Desktop app development

Desktop app development services

We build modern desktop applications with Tauri - a Rust-powered framework that produces small, fast, secure apps for Windows, macOS and Linux from a single web-technology codebase. Installers are typically under 10 MB, compared to 100+ MB for Electron equivalents.

This isn't theory for us: POSflow Restaurant OS itself ships as a Tauri desktop app, running offline-first at the point of sale in real restaurants. We bring that production experience to your desktop product.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Tauri apps use the operating system's native webview instead of bundling Chromium, so installers are typically under 10 MB (vs 100+ MB), memory usage is far lower and the Rust core is more secure. For most business desktop apps it's the better modern choice.

Yes - one codebase builds native installers for all three platforms. Most of our clients start with Windows (MSI) and add other platforms when needed.

Yes. We build offline-first with a local database (SQLite) and background sync - our own Restaurant OS runs entire service shifts with no internet at all.

Yes. Tauri's native layer lets us integrate receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers and other local hardware that browser apps can't access reliably.
